The graphic below depicts the famous promise of "herd immunity" that will be reached once we "vaccinate everyone".

But let's dissect just how illogical and impossible of an idea this really is:

First off, the concept of herd immunity wrongly equates being “immunized” with being “immune.”

In reality, vaccination doesn't guarantee immunity at all and vaccine effectiveness varies by pathogen and individual. Whether or not an individual will have antibodies after vaccination is completely random - and has nothing to do with how vulnerable or protected they are from infection.

By May of 2020, the CDC published that 90% of Americans had Covid antibodies -yet somehow infections continued to rage? And CDC data published from 2021 to 2023 repeatedly found that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines showed continuously reducing efficacy over months (sometimes weeks). But instead of admitted the vaccine was not capable of producing immunity, the CDC instead decided to push continuous boosters.

But if you need continuous boosters, how on earth can you claim that the artificial genetic material being repeatedly injected into your muscles is providing you immunity?

It's not just with the Covid shot either. Pertussis outbreaks have repeatedly occurred in highly vaccinated populations in every country and demographic, indicating that DTaP doesn't actually prevent infection or transmission either.

We have to recognize that immunity is not a thing that can just be injected into us. It's not a cheat code. It's a dynamic, adaptive, ever-renewing intelligence that comes from experience, not avoidance.

The fairy tale concept of "heard immunity" is the result of false equivalence, equating an injected substance with actual immune protection - despite not one vaccine every proving to show consistent immune reactions across all individuals receiving the vaccines.

It also conveniently leaves out the facts that natural infection often provides broader and longer-lasting immunity than many vaccines. A study in Cell (2021) showed robust T-cell immunity post-COVID infection, potentially more durable than vaccine-induced immunity. For measles, natural infection often conferred lifelong immunity, whereas waning antibody levels post-MMR have been documented countless times.

And as always, the graphic doesn't factor in risk-benefit analysis, particularly for low-risk populations. Instead it assumes every single child has the highest risk of death from the natural virus possible, and the small chances of adverse events occurring as possible (you can't have it both ways).

The worst thing about the image above is how it demonizes the unvaccinated by suggesting they are always the source of disease - when, once again, we have decades of research and case studies proving this to be untrue. A 2022 Lancet study concluded that vaccinated individuals with COVID were equally likely to spread the virus during Delta and Omicron waves.

The truth is simple. Vaccines can't produce herd immunity without 100% uptake and 100% efficacy - which not one vaccine has ever been able to produce. Even if 100% of the population was vaccinated, no vaccine has ever produced perfect efficacy in inducing immunity, every vaccine has always eventually had waning immunity, and no vaccine has ever been able to stop asymptomatic transmission.

So why have we bought into the lie that herd immunity is not only possible, but it's our only way to protect ourselves? Where'd this concept come from anyways?

In what world would anyone think that violating the barrier of the skin and fascia, bypassing the natural filters of mouth, gut, liver, lymph, and introducing synthetic chemicals directly into the muscle and nerve cells would ever result in long-term systemic harmony?

The term "herd immunity" was coined in the 1920s by Topley and Wilson when studying natural infection dynamics in animal populations, not from vaccination. They found that populations self-limit epidemics once a threshold of naturally immune individuals is reached.

Now, naturally immunity is self-sustaining and stable, because its lifelong and recovered individuals block transmission. But vaccines were never part of the original definition of herd immunity.

Interestingly enough, in 2020, WHO quietly altered its website to redefine herd immunity as vaccine-derived, which was historically and scientifically incorrect.
